Nolan Wells deserves justice. As a mom of two Black boys, my heart goes out to Nolan's family and loved ones. I am frustrated and heartbroken by a system that left so many questions unanswered. The state's own autopsy report lists his cause of death as undetermined, and the family is still asking for a full and honest accounting.
Black Forward is taking a stand. This piece features a hand-drawn heart containing the name his parents gave him, NOLAN WELLS, embroidered in red. It sits on the left chest, over the heart, because he rests in our hearts. Red was chosen for the same reason.
Wear it so others see it and ask about him. Justice has to prevail, and we keep his name in front of people until it does. A portion of proceeds from this sale will be set aside to support the push for truth and accountability in Nolan's case.
