The REDEMPTION DEVOTIONAL JOURNAL was written by Teresa Barnhill and illustrated by Erica Keith. It features unique illustrations celebrating the beauty of Black women, powerful Biblical lessons, and intimate stories of present-day Black women that prove we all can experience God's redemptive power and bask in the vastness of His love.
Across over 150 pages, the stories of five beautifully flawed women of the Bible—Eve, Hagar, Bathsheba, Naomi, and Rahab—are offered up to highlight the ways God showed up in their lives despite their sins and shortcomings. Each of these retellings is accompanied by the testimony of a Black woman of today who has experienced a similar situation. These pages also hold space for you. As the Bible tells us, we must not only be readers or hearers of the Word; we have to be doers of the Word as well. Write down what you can take away from these women’s stories and apply to your own life. Document the changes you need and want to make. List how those changes will come to life. Using scriptures, song lyrics, and quotes to guide your thoughts, plan out how you can rely more on God and less on yourself. Envision how you will claim God’s redemptive power over your life.
Women of the Bible: Redemption is a 160-page faith walk dream book. Read it. Plan in it. Use the stories, testimonials, and journal pages to help you recognize how God’s “strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9), and how, if He did it for Eve, Bathsheba, Hagar, Naomi, and Rahab, He can do it for you.
